Regeneration - Opportunites for Growth
Regional Studies makes a lasting impression on first time attendee.
A PhD is a daunting task for any student whether they are starting their studies or focusing on the finishing line. The one duty that brings sweat to any student’s brow is the thought of having to present their results and sought after research gap to a room full of experienced international academics and leaders in their field of study. However, Regional Studies is an international conference that not only makes a student feel welcome but also exposes them to the fascinating world of academia. This was my first Regional Studies conference and also the first time I had to present my research findings to a room full of knowledgeable academic minds.
SLNIW: A Year Later
The Sustainable Learning Networks in Ireland and Wales (SLNIW) project began work in November 2008. The primary aim of the project was to set up three learning networks of entrepreneurs in South East Ireland and the same in West Wales. The networks were to be divided by gender into an all male, all female and mixed network. The first year of the project was a time for research where the SLNIW team conducted in depth literature reviews and surveys into what makes networks work and how entrepreneurs learn best. In November 2009, these reports were presented at international seminars in both Ireland and Wales.
